GRAM SATHI is a NGO registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 operational in Banka district in Bihar. Banka district is full of problems on all scores of life i.e. hilly – rock land, diminishing forest, huge rain or total drought, no storage facility or reservoir of rain- water, lock of irrigational resources, lack of cultivable land, migration and unemployment of yours. To reduce these problems through community participation and support, Gram Sathi emerged in the year 2007 promoted by a group of social workers and activists through organized and sincere efforts to address the grass root community issues with special focus to the poor and resource lees people living in the rural and slum areas of Banka and Bhagalpur district in Bihar. Later on our activities spread to Deoghar, Godda, Dumka, Pakur and Sahibganj districts in Jharkhand. Since inception, Gram Sathi has undertaken various community cantered programs by putting the last first involved in the development process. Bringing social change through community mobilization and social action is our highest priority.

‘Right to Education’ & 'Education for All’ is an important theme of working of Gram Sathi since long. In 2015-16, it continued with same intensity.
SHG formation and nurturing has been a focused program of Gram Sathi and with the support of NABARD, we have successfully formed 300 women’s SHGs.
Gram Sathi fully adhere to “Child Protection Policy” and is committed to provide protection to poor children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence.
